Our service

The UNIQUE ideas competition at the research location Greifswald was organized for the first time in 2006. It is part of the state-wide project “inspired – the ideas competition. In MV.”, which is financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) on behalf of the Ministry of Economics, Labor and Health. Participants are supported from the brainstorming stage through business model development to the establishment of a company. In recent years, more than 120 teams of researchers and students have developed start-up concepts, resulting in more than 30 companies in various fields.

Since 2020, UNIQUE has been implemented by WITENO GmbH in close cooperation with the University of Greifswald and jointly with the Leibniz Institute for Plasma Research and Technology e.V. (INP) Greifswald, the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, Partial Institute Greifswald, as well as the Friedrich Löffler Institute, Federal Research Institute for Animal Health, Insel Riems.
